The Truman State University’s French Wing is actually a
spacious suite located on the first floor of Missouri Hall (see
campus map). Since 2007 it is in the Romance Languages House. Each year the
“L’AILE française” a.k.a. “Le Coin français” can accommodate as many as twenty
students who are enrolled in French study at the intermediate or advanced level.
Activities are coordinated by the French Wing Activities Director (a native
speaker from New Caledonia, an island in the South Pacific Ocean). Residents
make a commitment to speak only French among themselves, and to participate
regularly in House activities, which include:
Le Salon français/The French Conversation Table. Once a week, residents
of L'AILE and other French speakers on campus share a meal in the
Chariton room, a reserved dining room in Missouri Hall. Here’s your chance to
hear and speak the French language in an informal, non-threatening setting!
